Description: Belges Coin 5 Centimes 1861 This coin has been in my family for 100, plus years. It is a 5 Centimes, Belgian coin and a fine example of the period and the piece. The front is in excellent condition with all raised images and lettering appearing clearly, with precise edges. The reverse side is also in excellent condition with the words atop the edge; "L'Union Fait La Force." The lion is centered beneath the words and two stars appear, one on either side of the 1861 date. On the other side is the coin's denomination, "5 Centimes." It also reads; " Leopold Premier Roi Des Belges. The coin is in exceptional condition for a 130 year old circulated coin. I am not one to polish coins as I prefer the natural beauty of the aging process rather than the highly polished sheen that comes with polishing. There is little in the way of marking or scratching visible on the coin's surface. It is rather quite pristine for its vintage. The coin's edge is in tact with no visible scoring or damage, showing normal signs of circulate wear. For the coin collector in your life, this would be a special gift. For your own collection, it is quite the find. There are few out there in this condition, particularly those placed into circulation. I have 100% feedback so buy with confidence.
