New York - Declaring that he was willing to pay his bills if they were correct but that he did not wish to be "diddled," this letter throws a highly interesting light upon the character of the Great Emancipator whose birthday will be commemorated by the nation next Friday (February 12th) it will be the 122nd anniversary of that great event in the history of the nation. The letter, valued by collectors at $1500, is now the property of Mrs. Henry B. Buck, of Syracuse, New York, daughter of William Martin Dickson, to whom the letter was addressed, and Mrs. Dickson, who was a cousin of Lincoln's wife, the former Mary Todd.
