1850’s South Carolina Currency – Columbia – Civil War Bullets – 5529

Description: An original hand signed “Ten Dollars” note issued by “The Commercial Bank of Columbia” in Columbia, South Carolina. The note had a hand inscribed serial number which has faded and was printed n the face only. This bank operated from 1832 until it failed in 1854. Original lead bullets excavated from the Wilderness and Spotsylvania Battlefields near Fredericksburg, Virginia. The 1864 battles were the beginning of General Grant’s “Overland Campaign” to take Richmond. From left they are a fired .58 Confederate Gardner made at the Richmond Arsenal, a dropped .58 Federal round for the Springfield Rifle and a fired .58 rifle that could have been used by either side. They are mounted in an 8” x 12” Riker style case with glass front. All of the artifacts are guaranteed to be original Civil War issue or as stated.
