Description: Here's an early blackglass wine bottle with Pineapple on applied shoulder seal...dug from an 1850s outhouse privy pit....It has a pineapple with what looks like PHALON ET Cie all emb on the circular shoulder seal....Dip mold blown, so there are no mold seams....crude sunken bottle with no obvious pontil scar....early sharp sheared lip with applied ring on neck....dark olive green blackglass....round.....9"tall...it has a chip on side of shoulder seal & 2 or 3 small shallow chips on edge of sheared lip; no other damage. A dug bottle, but pretty clean with only some faint haze. I wonder if this bottle contained some kind of pineapple wine? It is over 160 years old. This is the only pineapple emb seal bottle I've seen!.....
