Description: Nice 1844-O Rev '43 LG O Seated Liberty Quarter. This variety is an extreme rarity with only a matter of several dozen known. The reverse die of the prior years 1843 O large O quarter was reused in 1844. The die soon began to crack once it was put back to use in 1844 with several large cracks being visible on the die (LDS examples such as the one listed also have 180 degree die rotation) which is most likely why the die was retired so quickly into the 1844 mintage. This also makes it much rarer than the 1843 O large o quarter that was used fully until the desired 1843 O quarter coinage goals were meant. If you have any questions I'm happy to help.
