Folders with separate title and contents labels mounted to the covers and with string ties to edges. Folders measure 42 x 29 cm (16.5 x 11.4 inches). Lacks the unnumbered Carte Generale map but all 37 numbered maps present and quite neat. Map 3(plate3) exists in an A and a B example, such that there are 37 maps of the 36 numbered maps called for. Several include a separate engraved overlay that displays troop positions prior or following that displayed in the primary map. See photos for examples. Most photos contain a 30cm (11.8 inch) ruler for scale. Several maps 27x41 cm, but most are sized 40x60 cm (16 x 24 inches) to 58 x 85 cm (23 x 34 inches). Finely engraved maps on heavy rag stock paper, many with hand colored details. All the maps are numbered in pencil on the blank recto surfaces. A few with light damp stains in the margins and a few with superficial stress and/or toning along the folds. Here and there some light foxing. Photographs attest to condition. Text component of 58 pages on unbound folio size leaves include notes on the maps and troop deployments and positions. This example does not include the proper engraved title leaf. The four portfolio cases are rubbed and worn with furring and flaking to the paper covered edges and partial splits at the spine edges.
