Description: Offered for sale is a blown glass whale oil lamp with drop-in burner (sans cork) produced by the Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. circa 1830. The font, with swirls and tiny bubbles, is secured to the 5-stepped molded base with a gather of rings. Rough marks from the pontil rod are within the base. A darker spot within the base is from impurities in the batch. There are two rough areas on the bottom of the base as seen in the photo but not noticeable with the lamp upright. The lamp stands 9 inches with the widest diameter of the font at about three inches. Shipping is by USPS Priority insured, and there is no handling charge.
