1829 Capped Bust Half Dime PCGS AU Details w/ PF Initials Carved Love Token 5c

Description: This 1829 Capped Bust Half Dime has been certified as Genuine by PCGS with AU Details and is encapsulated in one of the newer-style edge-view holders. The coin was not given a numerical grade by PCGS because of what they call graffiti, but what is actually a detailed carving on the obverse of the letters P and F. The carving is reminiscent of the many love tokens which carry initials, but those are typically done on seated coinage and you typically see much lower graded coins as the host coins. The host coin here is a wonderfully detailed piece that is almost mint state. An interesting Capped Bust Half Dime with PF initials.
