First collected edition(?). x, 192 p. Publisher's plain grey papered boards, with paper title / price label on spine. 8vo (17.5cm x 10.5cm).Very Good to Good condition. Boards lightly marked and rubbed, and corners bumped and a bit worn. Spine with small closed tear (repaired) and some chipping to paper at top and bottom. Front blank end paper missing. Pages lightly age-toned at front and end of book (title a bit more so). Scattered mainly light foxing throughout. Occasional handling marks to edges of pages. Previous owner's small book label on front pastedown: 'J.O. Edwards'. See gallery images.A rare example of this book of late Georgian poetry, mainly by George Grantham Jun., but with a section at the rear called 'Selections' which reprints poems by famous muses such as Byron, Shakespeare, Goldsmith and Moore.The pieces by Grantham are surprisingly diverting and contemporary in nature, one highlight being a poem about Lord Byron's genius and shortcomings, published here in the year of Byron's death but clearly written beforehand.This is a rare work, with COPAC listing only 4 copies (BL, Oxford, Cambridge and Durham). key words:
