Very Scarce Overall Condition: Good This book weighs 0.5 KG when packed UK Postage: £ 3.99 US Postage: £ 15.99 EU Postage: £ 13.99 European Postage: £ 14.99 Asia Postage: £ 18.99 Worldwide Postage: £ 19.99 DESCRIPTION These two very scarce essays on women's health offer insight into medical practices and understandings of the early nineteenth century, and point to the sexism inherent in the profession at that time. Published in French. Whilst the first essay by E. D. Messinier considers some of the main diseases that effect women, the second dissertation by Antoine-Jean-Charles-Joseph Clarac-Faget asks whether the imagination of pregnant women contributes to the bodily defects of their children. CONDITION Disbound. Externally, generally smart, with bright outer papers. Internally, generally firmly bound, although pages 17 to 28 of the second essay are in a separate cluster. Aside from the title page of the second essay which is rather foxed, the remaining pages are bright with patches of light scattered foxing.
