Description: Presented is a wonderful pair of English sterling silver sugar tongs made by Duncan Urquhart & Naphtali Hart of London in 1793. This old pair of tongs is beautifully engraved with classic, bright-cut designs all over. There is a monogram on the arch of the initials MB. The inside of the tongs are marked with the lion passant for sterling silver, a duty mark of King George III’s head, a date letter S for the year 1793 and a maker’s mark for Duncan Urquhart & Naphtali Hart. This piece is in excellent overall condition. There is one very small solder repair at the very top of the arch, almost impossible to notice. There are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals and no other repairs. The tongs measure 5 1/8 inches long and weigh 19 grams. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
