This work is a biography of Colonel James Gardiner (1688-1745), a Scottish soldier who fought in the British Army duing the 1745 Jacobite rising. 'With an appendix relating to the ancient family of the Munroes of Fowlis'. CONDITION In a calf binding. Externally, rubbed with some wear to extremities and spine. Front board is nearly detached and is held loosely by one cord only. Rear joint is weak. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with some browning to edges here and there.
