The reverse shows a woodcut of buttercup leaves (an anti-counterfeiting device), SEVEN DOLLARS at the top, and "PHILADELPHIA: Printed by HALL and SELLERS. 1776." at bottom. Serial # 6061. Signed by Continental officials William Govett and Sam Hillegas. "THE UNITED COLONIES/SEVEN DOLLARS" along top and bottom borders. "Continental Currency" along left and right borders. It reads: "SEVEN DOLLARS. THIS Bill entitles the Bearer to receive SEVEN SPANISH Milled DOLLARS, or the Value thereof in GOLD or SILVER, according to a Resolution of CONGRESS, paffed at Philadelphia, Nov. 2, 1776."
