Description: Apologies for the poor photos, tough one to capture! I’d guess this is a rare 16th or 17th century lead survival, most likely pre-reformation, as that’s when these were still widely made in England. The style is lovely and naive. Super rare to have lead that is not a detector find, as it’s so soft they are so often mangled. This was very loose and filthy in its current frame, I’ve tried to tidy it up a bit, but easily retrieved if you’d prefer to have it in a different display. It came with the holes already, which look like they have always been there. It’s a lovely early rare piece of religious iconography, not to be missed!
