The first edition of antiquary Lorenz Beger's (16931705) influential treatise on the history of ancient coinage. A significant numismatist, Beger served as librarian for Prince Karl Ludwig von der Pfalz from 1675 as well as conservator for the prince's collection of coins and medals.
