This brooch weighs approximately 3.5g It measures approximately 50mm long The sapphire is approximately 4mm which is approximately 1/2 carat of sapphire. The pearls are very pretty. This would make a wonderful “something old “ or “ something blue” for a bride to wear on her dress on her wedding day. A thoughtful gift. This item would benefit greatly from a professional clean. It has areas of discolouration from age related wear. The overall condition is good for its age, with minor scuffs, scratches and nicks consistent with use. The setting around the central sapphire is slightly misshapen. The pin works well. This gorgeous brooch could be repurposed and worn as a pendant, hair slide, badge or button pin.
