When his father died, Raymond took over and succeeded to the chairmanship of Hickok Manufacturing in 1948, at the age of 28.Hickok grew the business substantially, and an independent management consultant and adjunct professor at Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Alexandria, Va. By 1949, the company had $20 million in sales and 2,500 employees! A keen business sense and a flair for publicity helped Hickok’s success.
