Description: Collectors of pins call this time period the "Golden Age" of political buttons, and you can see why. Here's a pretty 1.25" cello button from the 1900 election promoting the republican ticket of William McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt in a jugate picturing both men. The gold background was used to show that the GOP was behind a monetary policy based on a Gold Standard or currency, and similar pins for their democrat opponents had silver backgrounds since that's what they promoted. This has its Whitehead and Hoag Company of Newark, New Jersey back paper intact and we hope it will be a nice addition for a beginning collector or a nice holiday gift for a young historian. It is in nice condition but please look at our images to judge condition for yourself so you can be happy with your purchase. There may be light surface wear and scratches as found on most all older pins. Shipping on it will be $5.85 sent well-protected with tracking. We are members of APIC and sell only authentic presidential (and other collectible) material so buy with confidence. And we'll be happy to combine S & H costs on multiple purchases even though eBay says we don't. We just give you a refund for any overpayment. 9463
