Machine made square nails came into use in the 1820's and were made until the common wire nails replaced them.The heads are domed or crowned and would give a neat rustic look.The heads almost look hammered but they were machine made over 100 years ago. There is some light rust is on the nails from their many years of storage. These were in an old wood nail keg in a barn and they got damp and rust formed.They are new and were not ever used and they are not bent.These nails 1 1/2" long.
